Srinagar is witnessing sub-zero night temperatures across Kashmir, with Gulmarg recording a minimum of minus 9 degrees Celsius. Srinagar’s temperature dropped to minus 0.6 degrees Celsius, while Pahalgam recorded minus 4.5 degrees. Jammu city reported 7.2 degrees Celsius, Katra 6.4, Batote 0.9, Banihal minus 2.6, and Doda’s Bhaderwah minus 3.4 degrees Celsius.
The Meteorological Department has forecast mainly dry weather with cloudy skies until the evening of January 31. From February 1 and 2, there is a likelihood of light to moderate rain and snowfall in some areas. Between February 3 and 6, the weather is expected to remain dry.
Authorities from Ganderbal, Bandipora, and Kupwara districts have issued avalanche warnings for high-altitude areas and advised residents to exercise extreme caution.
