Kolkata, April 26: The West Bengal Assembly elections are expected to witness a high-stakes battle between the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Following the voting for the first phase covering 152 assembly seats, BJP leaders are filled with optimism. They firmly believe that this time, the BJP will form the government in Bengal.
This confidence has been bolstered by Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s recent statement, claiming that Mamata Banerjee’s corruption has opened the door for the BJP in Bengal.
Former Union Minister Smriti Irani responded to Rahul’s comments with a jab, stating that he has now admitted that the BJP is set to form the government in Bengal.
In an interview in Kolkata, Irani remarked that this is a long-standing tactic of Congress and its allied parties. She emphasized that Rahul Gandhi has acknowledged the BJP’s impending victory, attributing it solely to Mamata Banerjee’s misrule.
Bengal has endured 15 years of TMC’s ‘goonda raj,’ which has plunged the state into fear, unemployment, corruption, and decline. The people of Bengal are now yearning for change and wish to see transformation under a BJP government, where rapid development will uplift all sections of society.
Regarding PM Modi’s 133rd episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat,’ Smriti Irani highlighted how the Prime Minister showcased the talents of emerging daughters in the field of mathematics. He also informed citizens about India’s achievements in civil nuclear energy. On the occasion of Buddha Purnima, the Prime Minister conveyed a message not only to the citizens but also appealed for the preservation of nature.
