Ljubljana, March 21 : Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Jansa has announced that previously evacuated embassy staff will be returning to war-torn Kyiv. In a tweet on Sunday, Jansa said that the returning diplomats are volunteers. “We are working to make the (EU) do the same,” he added. “(Ukraine) needs diplomatic support”. On March 15, Jansa, along with Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala and Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, visited Kyiv and met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Following the meeting — the first by Western leaders since Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24 — the Czech leader told Ukrainians that they were “not alone”. Ukraine has praised the courage of the three European leaders who made a long, hazardous journey by rail from Poland to Kyiv in a show of support as the city came under further Russian attack, the BBC said. The prime ministers of Poland, Slovenia and the Czech Republic met Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky on Tuesday evening as a curfew began in Kyiv.
