Hyderabad, March 12 : Telangana M cipal Administration Minister K T Rama Rao on Saturday informed the Assembly that the state government has taken up Strategic Nala Development Programme (SNDP). Replying to a question from members in the house during the question hour, Rao said a total of 60 works costing at Rs 985.45 crore were taken up in the Phase-1 of SNDP. The Minister said, the state government has accorded administrative sanction for taking up SNDP works under phase-1 in Greater Hyderabad M cipal Corporation (GHMC) and in surrounding Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) for an amount of Rs 985.45 crore. Of the total amount of Rs 985.45 crore, Rs 735 crore was spent under GHMC and Rs 250 crore out of GHMC, he added. Stating that all the works were under various stages of execution, Rao said it would be completed by June end . Rao said, the government has taken up the development of Nalas and is making efforts to develop supply of drinking water and sewage treatment plants. Earlier, the city had the capacity of 46 per cent sewage treatment. But now it has 100 per cent sewage treatment capacity, he added. VV CS1617
