
Nashik, December 8 (Daily Kiran) – A tragic accident occurred on Sunday evening in the Kalwan tehsil of Nashik district, where a car plunged into a 600-foot deep gorge in the Saptsringi Garh Ghats area. Six people lost their lives, and one person was injured in the incident. The injured individual is currently receiving treatment at a nearby hospital.
By Monday morning, all the bodies were recovered from the gorge and sent for postmortem. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced financial assistance of five lakh rupees for the families of each deceased person. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
According to Rohit Kumar Rajput, the Deputy Collector of Nashik district, the car carrying seven people fell into the deep gorge on Sunday evening. Upon receiving the information, police and the District Disaster Management team reached the spot and began rescue operations. Six bodies were retrieved by Monday morning, and one injured person is under hospital care.
The deceased have been identified as Kirti Patel (50), Rasila Patel (50), and Vin Patel (70), among others. Chief Minister Fadnavis expressed his condolences, calling the accident very sad. He extended his heartfelt tribute to the victims and shared the grief of their families. The state government will provide five lakh rupees in financial aid to the dependents of the deceased.
