New Delhi, August 2: The Foreign Cell of the Special Staff in the Central District has arrested six Bangladeshi nationals for violating visa conditions. This breach was uncovered during a special verification campaign conducted in hotels and guest houses across the Central District.
The operation, dubbed “Operation Visa Status Verification,” aims to identify foreign nationals in Delhi who have violated visa conditions or overstayed their permitted duration. The initiative is part of a broader effort to enforce compliance with visa regulations.
During this operation, a dedicated team conducted extensive inspections of hotels and guest houses in the Central District. Six Bangladeshi nationals were found staying at a hotel on Attraction Road in the Nabi Karim area of Delhi.
An examination of their passports, visas, and immigration records revealed that all six individuals had entered India on a “Double Entry Visa.” This type of visa permits a maximum stay of 15 days per visit. However, they exceeded this time limit, thereby violating the terms of their visas.
All six foreign nationals were promptly detained and presented before the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO). The FRRO initiated legal proceedings and issued a “Restriction Order” to keep them in custody until the deportation process is completed. The arrested individuals have been identified as Shafi Imam Nafees Siddiqui (31), Yahya Ehtesham (31), Asif Molla (21), MD Bulbul Hussain (20), Hasan Sheikh (24), and Most Tisha Khatun (21). They all claimed to have arrived in India on valid “Double Entry Visas.”
A thorough review of the travel documents of these Bangladeshi nationals confirmed that while their visas were valid, they were only allowed to stay for a maximum of 15 days per visit. The accused did not seek any extension or permission from the relevant authorities, resulting in their violation of visa conditions.
