Ujjain, August 24: On the occasion of the last Monday of Sawan, the Bhasma Aarti of Baba Mahakal was held at the Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple. A large number of devotees gathered to witness this divine spectacle.
A priest at the temple shared that the Bhasma Aarti took place early in the morning at 2:30 AM, when the temple doors were opened. Baba Mahakal was bathed with Panchamrit and fruit juices as part of the rituals.
The priest mentioned that Baba was adorned with bhang (cannabis), followed by the grand Aarti. Devotees who could not visit during the month of Sawan had the opportunity to earn spiritual merit by attending today.
Singer Hansraj Raghuvanshi visited Baba Mahakal on this auspicious occasion. In an interview, he expressed his gratitude for being able to witness the divine presence on the last Monday of Sawan. He thanked Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and the Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple Management Committee for organizing such a grand event. He shared that participating in the Sawan festival and having the darshan of Baba Mahakal brought him immense joy.
Raghuvanshi remarked that the experience of the Bhasma Aarti is unique. He encouraged anyone facing difficulties in life to visit Baba Mahakal, suggesting they would feel a positive shift in their lives.
Sadguru Dayanand Maharaj greeted everyone, saying, “First of all, I wish Jai Shri Mahakal and Jai Shri Kedarnath to all your viewers. On this auspicious fourth and last Monday of Sawan, I extend heartfelt greetings. May everyone remain healthy, happy, and may Baba Mahakal’s blessings be with all, fulfilling their wishes.”
Mahamandaleshwar Sonakshi Maharaj of the Kinnar Akhada noted, “Today, we witnessed a beautiful scene at Baba Mahakal’s court. Many politicians, ministers, and celebrities attended the Bhasma Aarti. Members of our community (Juna Akhada and Kinnar Akhada) were also present. May Baba Mahakal’s immense grace be upon all.” She added that the administration had made excellent arrangements for the event.
A female devotee named Pramila expressed her feelings, stating, “I was fortunate to participate in the Bhasma Aarti on the last Monday of Sawan. It was a wonderful experience, and may Baba Mahakal’s blessings be upon everyone.”
