Simple Ayurvedic Remedy to Ease All Types of Cough

New Delhi: With changing weather, infections trouble people of all ages, causing cough and fever. Both children and adults commonly experience these symptoms.

Medicines often provide temporary relief, but curing cough completely can be challenging. Ayurveda offers effective home remedies that can treat even chronic coughs.

According to Ayurveda, infections during weather changes indicate a weakened immune system. This lowers the body’s resistance, leading to persistent cough, fever, and body aches. A remedy combining ginger, black pepper, cardamom, and ajwain can help relieve severe cough.

To prepare, dry roast black pepper, ginger, black salt, green cardamom, and ajwain seeds. Then boil jaggery in a little water until it melts completely. Mix the roasted ingredients into the jaggery syrup and simmer for a while. Store this mixture in a glass container.

Adults can take this remedy at night with lukewarm water. For severe cough, half a teaspoon can be taken during the day with warm water. Children should be given a quarter teaspoon with warm water at bedtime. Since the mixture has a warming effect, children should only take it once daily.

Continue this treatment for 3 to 7 days to experience relief from cough, including long-lasting cases. Pregnant women should consult a doctor before using this mixture or any other medication.
