Silhet Titans Beat Noakhali Express by 6 Wickets in Low-Scoring BPL Clash

Silhet Titans secured a 6-wicket victory over Noakhali Express in the 13th match of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2025-26 season. This win marked the Titans’ third of the season, elevating them to third place in the points table, while Noakhali Express suffered their fourth consecutive defeat, placing them at the bottom.

The match, held at Silhet International Cricket Stadium, saw Noakhali Express elect to bat after winning the toss. However, their innings collapsed early, managing only 61 runs in 14.2 overs.

Habibur Rahman Sohan and Soumya Government added 24 runs for the opening partnership in 3.1 overs. Soumya Government was dismissed after scoring 6 runs, triggering a collapse in the batting order.

Mahidul Islam Ankon top-scored for Noakhali Express with 25 runs off 32 balls, while Habibur Rahman contributed 18 runs. No other batsman crossed double figures.

For Silhet Titans, Nasum Ahmed was the standout bowler, taking five wickets for just seven runs in four overs. Mohammad Amir, Khaleel Ahmed, Azmatullah Omarzai, and Mehdi Hasan each claimed one wicket.

Chasing a modest target, Silhet Titans achieved victory in 8.4 overs with four wickets remaining. They lost the early wicket of Parvez Hussain for 1 run, but Zakir Hasan and Taufiq Khan put together a crucial 53-run partnership in 31 balls to steer the team towards the target. Despite losing some wickets near the end, the Titans maintained control.

Taufiq Khan scored 32 runs off 18 balls, hitting seven boundaries, while Zakir Hasan remained unbeaten with 24 runs from 23 deliveries. From the opposition, Zakir Khan took three wickets and Bilal Shami claimed one.

Silhet Titans will next face Chattogram Royals on 6 January, while Noakhali Express will take on Dhaka Capitals the same day.
