Mumbai, 2 January. Actor Siddhant Chaturvedi, known for films like ‘Dhadak 2’, ‘Phone Bhoot’, and ‘Gully Boy’, has addressed rumours about his involvement in remake films. Through a social media post, he dismissed the speculation about acting in the Hindi remake of ‘Dear Comrade’.
Siddhant broke his silence regarding the casting rumours for the Hindi remake of the 2019 Telugu hit ‘Dear Comrade’. Recent reports claimed that Dharma Productions, led by Karan Johar, is producing the remake and that Siddhant along with Pratibha Ranta would be in lead roles. However, Siddhant clarified on his Instagram account that these reports are false.
Sharing a post in his Instagram stories, Siddhant wrote, “Siddhant to be seen with Pratibha Ranta in an upcoming film.” Addressing the rumours, he stated, “Friends, let me clear this is not true. No remakes for me now, I am a fan of original films and actors, much love and respect to them. Thank you all.”
He further explained his interest in working with talented actors in original projects. “I would love to work with the very talented actress Pratibha Ranta in an original project in the future,” he added.
The original ‘Dear Comrade’, released in 2019, starred Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna and was praised for its story blending love, anger, and emotional struggles. Dharma Productions had acquired the remake rights earlier, but the project was delayed. The recent buzz about Siddhant and Pratibha featuring in the remake was thus unfounded. Siddhant, who has previously worked with Trupti Dimri in the remake ‘Dhadak 2’, made it clear that he now prefers to focus on original content.
Pratibha Ranta, known for her role in ‘Laapata Ladies’, also responded to the rumours. She urged people not to spread such news without official announcements as it causes confusion.
