Mumbai, August 25: Actress Shriya Saran recently met her co-star and South cinema icon Rajinikanth. She shared pictures from their meeting on social media this Tuesday.
On Instagram, she posted a photo with Rajinikanth, captioning it, “When you meet a legend, a photo is a must. Happy day!”
Following their selfie together, rumors have emerged that Shriya may be part of Rajinikanth’s upcoming film “Dharma.” However, there has been no official confirmation from the filmmakers yet.
In “Dharma,” Rajinikanth will portray a dangerous doctor, with the first look featuring a bloodied scalpel. This film marks Rajinikanth’s 173rd project, directed by Ashwath Marimuthu and produced by Kamal Haasan under the Raj Kamal Films International banner. This collaboration is significant as it reunites Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan after nearly 47 years.
Alongside Rajinikanth, the film will also feature Simran and Raashi Khanna in key roles. Reports suggest that Ram Pothineni may also play an important part. The second schedule of filming is currently underway in Chennai, with a pan-India release expected in early 2027.
Shriya and Rajinikanth previously starred together in the blockbuster Tamil film “Shivaji” (2007), where Rajinikanth played the lead role of Shivaji Aramugam, and Shriya portrayed his love interest, Vidya Bharti. Directed by S. Shankar, the film was a massive success at the box office.
In “Shivaji,” Shriya’s portrayal of a simple, middle-class Indian girl resonated with audiences, balancing Rajinikanth’s megastar persona with her energy and charm on screen.
