Shocking Revelations in Rohit Shetty Shooting Case Charge Sheet

Mumbai, May 22: Shocking details have emerged from the charge sheet filed by the Mumbai Police’s Crime Branch regarding the shooting incident at renowned filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s residence in Juhu. The investigation reveals that an organized criminal gang linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang orchestrated the attack, aiming to instill fear and assert dominance in Mumbai.

According to the charge sheet, the incident occurred late on February 1, 2026, between 12:30 AM and 12:45 AM. A complaint was lodged at the Juhu police station based on the report from a private security guard stationed at Shetty’s home, known as ‘Shetty Tower.’

During the incident, unidentified assailants indiscriminately fired shots towards Shetty’s residence. Initially, the case was registered under the Indian Penal Code and the Arms Act. However, due to the seriousness of the situation, the investigation was later handed over to the Anti-Extortion Cell.

Following an extensive investigation involving CCTV footage, technical analysis, and witness statements, the police added sections of the Maharashtra Organized Crime Control Act to the case. On February 11, 2026, after obtaining approval from the competent authority, action was taken under the MCOCA. So far, 15 accused individuals have been arrested and are currently in judicial custody.

The charge sheet identifies Shubham Rameshwar Lonkar and Naveen Kumar Dalit Kumar, also known as Arju Bishnoi, as the masterminds behind the entire operation. The police claim that Shubham Lonkar was the one who formed this organized criminal gang.

The investigation also revealed that immediately after the shooting, the accused took to social media to claim responsibility for the attack. In their post, they threatened Bollywood, stating, “Improve in time, or face the fate of Baba Siddiqui.”

Additionally, the charge sheet disclosed that the engine and chassis numbers of the motorcycle used in the crime were completely erased to conceal the vehicle’s identity, as confirmed by the RTO investigation.

According to the police, wanted suspects Arju Bishnoi and Shubham Lonkar provided the shooters with weapons and live ammunition. Furthermore, financial assistance was funneled to the accused through various bank accounts.

The investigation also uncovered that the accused were instructed to destroy their mobile phones and SIM cards after the incident. Some of the arrested individuals have reportedly confessed before the competent authority under MCOCA. Moreover, the ballistic report from Mumbai’s Kalina forensic lab confirmed that the weapons recovered were indeed used in the shooting at Rohit Shetty’s home.
