Jaipur, April 24: A shocking case has emerged involving Rahul Meena, a resident of Rajgarh in Alwar district, where online Ludo gambling is considered a crucial link. Police investigations reveal that a significant financial loss in online gaming led to personal grudges, economic hardship, and a desire for revenge, culminating in this heinous crime.
Alwar’s Superintendent of Police, Sudhir Chaudhary, stated that initial inquiries indicate both the accused, Rahul, and the victim’s husband were involved in online Ludo gambling, resulting in substantial monetary losses. This financial strain and personal stress are believed to be the primary motives behind the incident.
According to police reports, 19-year-old Rahul Meena first committed rape against his friend’s wife in Alwar. Just hours later, he traveled to Delhi and murdered the 22-year-old daughter of an IRS officer. There was an approximate gap of 7-8 hours between the two incidents.
Further investigation revealed that the accused had previously worked in Delhi as a domestic helper but was dismissed due to financial irregularities. He returned to his village in March.
On April 21, Rahul attended a wedding with his friend. He later made an excuse to leave and allegedly committed the rape. Following this, he traveled via the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway to Delhi, where he broke into the officer’s home and committed the murder on the morning of April 22.
Police reported that the accused was familiar with the household routine and the keys, which he exploited to carry out the crime. After the incident, he fled with cash and jewelry, which were later recovered.
CCTV footage captured the accused entering and exiting the residence. He has since been arrested, and a joint investigation is underway by the Delhi and Rajasthan police.
Investigative agencies are also working to determine whether the accused’s addiction to online gaming and gambling was isolated or if others were involved.
