
Kolkata, May 7: A shocking incident has emerged from the Madhyagram area of North 24 Parganas district in West Bengal. Chandranath Rath, the personal assistant of Suvendu Adhikari, the Leader of the Opposition in the West Bengal Assembly and a BJP leader, was shot dead. This event has sent shockwaves throughout the region.
Reports indicate that Chandranath was shot in the Madhyagram locality. He sustained severe injuries and was rushed to a nearby Diversity Nursing Home with the help of local residents. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries en route. Allegations have been made against TMC workers regarding the murder.
Upon receiving news of the incident, police arrived at the scene and have initiated an investigation. They are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the area and are actively searching for the assailants.
It is important to note that since the announcement of the Bengal election results on May 4, several violent incidents have been reported across the state. Many individuals have been subjected to life-threatening attacks during this period.
In light of the violence, Suvendu Adhikari appealed to the public to maintain peace, stating that legal action would be taken against those involved in the violence. He mentioned that some anti-social elements remain active. He assured that once the BJP forms the government, action would be taken against anyone associated with the party or otherwise, without discrimination.
He also emphasized that if any BJP leader or worker is found inciting violence, they too would face consequences.
