Mumbai, May 18: Shiv Sena spokesperson Krishna Hegde expressed pride over Prime Minister Narendra Modi receiving the prestigious ‘Royal Order of the Polar Star’ from Sweden. In a conversation with a news agency, Hegde praised Modi, stating that this honor is a matter of pride for India.
Regarding the Voter Verification Campaign and the SIR (Systematic Identification of Residents), Hegde mentioned that Deputy Chief Minister and Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde has instructed party workers to engage at the booth level. They are tasked with identifying genuine voters and assisting election commission officials in the SIR process.
Hegde also addressed issues related to fuel prices in Congress-ruled states, noting that Telangana has seen a hike in petrol and diesel prices. He pointed out that similar increases occurred previously in Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh, highlighting the disconnect between Congress’s promises and ground realities.
Shiv Sena (UBT) spokesperson Anand Dubey discussed the fuel price issues in Congress-ruled states during an interview. He stated that there is a shortage of petrol and diesel across India. In response to PM Modi’s appeal, everyone is encouraged to use public transport. Whether in Telangana or BJP-ruled states, each operates in its own way. Given that Telangana is a new state, cooperation is essential.
Dubey remarked on the good relationship between PM Modi and the Chief Minister of Telangana, suggesting that the central government will provide support. He emphasized that there should be no contradiction in the actions of the BJP and Congress regarding fuel pricing. Commenting on the oath-taking ceremony of Kerala’s Chief Minister, he expressed optimism about the new government’s performance.
On the SIR process, Dubey criticized the central government, questioning how, after 12 years of BJP governance, infiltrators are still present in the country. He argued that the government is mocking itself by failing to address these issues.
He urged Deputy CM Eknath Shinde to consider the implications of removing names from the SIR list while allowing infiltrators to remain. He warned that if genuine voters are removed under the guise of SIR, there will be backlash.
In response to PM Modi’s international honor, Dubey expressed mixed feelings. While he felt pride when the Prime Minister is recognized abroad, he lamented the government’s inaction amid domestic crises like inflation and currency depreciation. He noted that while the honor brings national pride, it is disheartening when the same leader appears inactive at home.
