Shiv Karthikeyans Seyon Shooting Begins with Kamal Haasans Enthusiastic Presence

Chennai, May 18: The Tamil film industry is buzzing with excitement over actor Shiv Karthikeyan’s new movie ‘Seyon.’ Since its announcement, anticipation among audiences has been high, and the official shooting has now commenced. The film’s launch took place in Madurai with a ceremonial pooja attended by several prominent personalities, including the legendary Kamal Haasan, whose presence added to the event’s significance.

Directed by Shivkumar Murugesan, ‘Seyon’ is produced by Rajkamal Films International in collaboration with Turmeric Media. Actress Bhagyashree Borse will play the lead role, marking her debut in Tamil cinema.

Upon announcing the film’s launch, Rajkamal Films International shared on social media platform X, “The journey of ‘Seyon’ has begun, and the celebration starts now.” Fans quickly took to the comments to express their excitement about the film.

Before the launch, director Shivkumar Murugesan shared a video showing him and his team visiting Kamal Haasan’s office to sign the agreement. He expressed his joy, stating, “I had long wondered if I would get Kamal Haasan’s autograph, but now I have an 80-page agreement signed by him. This moment feels like a dream come true.”

Interest in the film surged when the makers released a glimpse titled ‘The Celebration.’ This video showcased the Masi Kalari festival at the Karumathur Virumandi temple in Madurai. It depicted a significant conflict following a fair, where many people gather at the police station to report a major disturbance.

The video features young men with half-shaved heads, revealing they were beaten for attempting to film women dancing at the festival. Another individual recounts being attacked while preparing for a religious play, ‘Valli Thirumanam.’

As the narrative unfolds, one man claims the assailant is the one possessed by the power of the Virumandi deity. Towards the end of the video, police discover that villagers from nearby areas are present, but those from Karumathur are absent due to a religious procession. Some attempt to halt the procession, but tradition forbids it. In a powerful moment, Inspector Shiv Karthikeyan appears in a formidable form, praying with folded hands, further heightening fan enthusiasm for the film.

The makers have announced that ‘Seyon’ is set to release in October this year.
