Mumbai: The teaser of the film ‘Shatak’, based on the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), was released on Friday. The movie focuses on the 100-year journey of the RSS, highlighting its ideology and social contributions.
The film portrays the century-long legacy of the organisation, which has deeply influenced the social and cultural fabric of the nation. The teaser indicates that the movie addresses many long-standing misconceptions and misunderstandings related to the RSS.
It is clear from the teaser that the film goes beyond controversies and debates, presenting the RSS’s history, ideology, and development in an accurate context. It also touches upon significant themes such as the RSS’s role in the independence movement, the bans imposed at various times, and the Emergency period.
Recently, at the RSS office in Keshav Kunj, Delhi, the film’s song ‘Bhagwa Hai Apni Pehchan’ was launched. The song was released by RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat and is sung by renowned singer Sukhwinder Singh. Filled with patriotic fervour, the song reflects the film’s spirit and core message.
Director Ashish Mall said, “This film has been a personal journey for me. During the research, I discovered many aspects of the RSS that are rarely discussed. Our priority was to honestly present the misconceptions prevailing in society.”
Producer Veer Kapoor added, “The film is based on books, documents, and available literature. We aimed to weave the ideological tradition of the RSS into a cinematic narrative. Among many movements starting between 1875 and 1950, only the RSS has continuously progressed without breaking. This has been its greatest strength. The film’s tagline ‘Na Ruke, Na Thake, Na Jhuke’ reflects this spirit.”
Co-producer Ashish Tiwari shared that the film, conceptualised by Anil D. Agrawal and directed by Ashish Mall, is set to release in theatres across the country on 19 February 2026. It will be presented by ADA 360 Degree LLP.
