Mumbai, April 8: Actor Sharad Malhotra is set to star in the upcoming crime thriller web series ‘ACP Vikrant’. In this series, Sharad takes on the lead role of ACP Vikrant, marking his debut in the crime genre. He will immerse himself in a dark and dangerous world.
Sharad expressed his excitement about the series, stating that it is serious and intense, with no light-hearted scenes. The show revolves entirely around a murder mystery.
“You have mostly seen me in romantic roles, but in this series, you will witness me in a serious character as it is a murder mystery show,” Sharad explained.
His character is described as a sharp, stubborn, and tough police officer, skilled in solving major crimes, deceit, and complex investigations. He added, “Vikrant is an interesting character because he is a single father who has been suspended and struggles with alcoholism, all while fighting to catch criminals.”
Sharad is reuniting with Balaji Telefilms for this series, which he refers to as a homecoming. “It feels like a return home for me. The most significant shows in my life have come from the Balaji Telefilms family. Ekta Ma’am has given me many roles that the audience has loved,” he remarked.
Alongside Sharad, renowned Bhojpuri cinema actor Vinay Anand will also play a key role in the series. The chemistry between the two actors is highly anticipated.
“When I learned that Vinay Anand was part of this project, I knew something great was in store. We were both searching for a good script,” Sharad shared.
He further added, “The team has done excellent work. Vinay has made his mark in the Bhojpuri industry and has also worked in Hindi films. It has truly been a wonderful experience for me.”
