Bareilly, 29 December. Shahabuddin Razvi Bareilvi, President of All India Muslim Jamaat, has expressed concern over the attacks on the Hindu community in Bangladesh, calling it a matter of serious worry for India.
In a conversation with a news agency on Monday, he stated that extremist forces in Bangladesh are conspiring against India, but asserted that this conspiracy will not be allowed to succeed under any circumstances.
He added that the Indian Muslim community will fully support any measures taken by the Indian Government regarding the attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh.
Razvi demanded that the assaults on the Hindu community in Bangladesh must be stopped immediately, emphasizing that such attacks are unacceptable and deserve the strongest condemnation. He urged for a firm denunciation of the violence against Hindus in Bangladesh.
Separately, Razvi condemned the bulldozer action carried out on a colony in Bengaluru, Karnataka’s capital.
He claimed that over 400 Muslim families were residing in that colony, whose homes were demolished. He criticised the Karnataka Government for following the footsteps of the Uttar Pradesh Government, a move he said was unacceptable.
Razvi argued that instead of demolishing the colony, alternative solutions could have been found. He said the government could have provided alternative accommodation for the residents, but regretted that no such steps were taken. Instead, the government chose to raze the colony.
The Maulana described the distress of the affected residents, saying they are crying and in anguish with no one to understand or listen to their pain. He appealed to the Karnataka Government to acknowledge the suffering of the people and work towards resolving their issues, ensuring they do not face such hardships again.
He questioned the Karnataka Government’s claim of being a friend to Muslims, asking how their actions of demolishing the colony align with that claim. According to him, the government’s behaviour contradicts their declaration of supporting the Muslim community.
Razvi further accused the Karnataka Government of deceiving the Muslim community for political gains. However, he noted that the Muslims of Karnataka are fully aware of the government’s true attitude.
