Mumbai, May 18: Veteran actress Shabana Azmi remains active on social media, often sharing memorable moments from her life with fans. On Monday, she posted an unseen childhood photograph on Instagram.
In the black-and-white image, Shabana is seen sitting with a group of children, all smiling at the camera.
In her post, she wrote, “This picture was sent to me yesterday by Sajjad Zaheer’s granddaughter. It is from 1955 and reminds me of the days spent at Red Flag Hall.”

Shabana mentioned Sajjad Zaheer in her caption, a renowned Urdu writer and the father of theater icon Nadira Babbar. Zaheer was one of the founding members of the Progressive Writers’ Movement and IPTA (Indian People’s Theatre Association) in India. Shabana’s father, the legendary poet Kaifi Azmi, was inspired by Zaheer’s ideas and was also a close collaborator.

This film is based on the acclaimed play ‘Jis Lahore Nai Dekhya O Jamyai Nai,’ written by renowned playwright Asghar Wajahat. It tells a sensitive and emotional story set during the time of India’s partition.
