Mumbai, May 5: Sevilla FC secured a narrow 1-0 victory against Real Sociedad in their latest match. The only goal of the game came from Alexis Sanchez early in the second half, leaving Sociedad with slim hopes of finishing in the top five.
Real Sociedad started strong but failed to convert their chances into goals. Sevilla, buoyed by the seriousness of their position and the support of their home crowd, appeared more dangerous before halftime.
The second half opened with a promising opportunity for Real Sociedad when Oskarsson delivered a cross that Oyarzabal could not reach. However, Sevilla capitalized on their first real chance, with Alexis putting the home team ahead.
