September 22 Panchang: Worship Lord Vishnu on Parvartini Ekadashi with Auspicious Timings

New Delhi, September 21 (Daily Kiran) : The Panchang holds significant importance in Hinduism, guiding individuals in their auspicious activities, travel, investments, and rituals. It is a calendar system based on the positions of the sun, moon, and other celestial bodies.

On September 22, 2026, the Ekadashi tithi of the Shukla Paksha in Bhadrapada will last until 9:43 PM, after which the Dwadashi tithi will commence. Sunrise will occur at 6:19 AM, with sunset at 6:19 PM. The moon will rise at 3:43 PM and set at 2:56 AM.

This day marks the observance of Parvartini Ekadashi, a day dedicated to worshipping Lord Vishnu, particularly in his Vamana avatar. It is believed that on this day, Lord Vishnu turns on his side during Chaturmas, hence the name Parvartini.

According to the Panchang, the sun will be in the Uttaraphalguni Nakshatra, the twelfth constellation in the celestial sphere, spanning from 26 degrees 40 minutes in Leo to 10 degrees 00 minutes in Virgo. The ruling deity of this Nakshatra is Aryama, the chief of gods and ancestors. Those born under this Nakshatra are said to be ambitious, benevolent, and possess strong leadership qualities.

An Atigand Yoga will prevail until 4:29 PM on Tuesday. This sixth yoga from the 27 daily yogas is considered inauspicious and conflict-ridden. It occurs when the distance between the sun and moon ranges from 66 degrees 40 minutes to 80 degrees. Although ruled by the moon, this yoga is characterized as tamasic and challenging, advising against starting new ventures or important tasks during this time.

The Abhijit Muhurat, considered the most auspicious period of the day, will be from 11:55 AM to 12:43 PM. Activities undertaken during this time are believed to eradicate any negative influences. This period occurs when the sun is positioned directly overhead.

Additionally, Amrit Kaal will be observed from 10:00 PM to 11:44 PM, regarded as a highly favorable time filled with positive energy. It is ideal for new ventures, investments, rituals, and significant travels.

However, Rahu Kaal will take place from 3:19 PM to 4:49 PM, a time deemed inauspicious for initiating any new or auspicious activities. This period is calculated by dividing the time between sunrise and sunset into eight equal parts, typically lasting about 90 minutes.

Gulika Kaal, known as a ‘poisonous time’, will occur from 12:19 PM to 1:49 PM. Activities initiated during this time are believed to yield negative outcomes. While it is advisable to avoid starting new tasks, ongoing activities can continue.

Yamgand Kaal will be from 9:19 AM to 10:49 AM, associated with Yama, the god of death. This period is considered inauspicious for beginning new endeavors, and individuals should refrain from travel or financial transactions during this time.

On this day, the sun will be in Virgo, impacting individuals’ lives, work, and intellectual capabilities. Practical and methodical approaches are recommended during this time. The moon will be in Capricorn, influencing emotions with the discipline of its ruling planet, Saturn.

Traveling towards the north and northwest will be unfavorable due to the presence of Dishashool, an inauspicious direction according to astrology and Vastu Shastra.
