Mumbai, March 16 : The BSE Sensex on Wednesday bounced back by 779 points to open at 56,555.33 as buying was seen across the board. The Nifty too rallied 213 points at 16,876.65. Tumbling down over 700 points on Tuesday, the equity market opened in the green following gains by IndusInd Bank, Axis Bank, HDFC and Bajaj Finserv. The Sensex registered the days high and low at 56,761.01 and 56,402.30 points respectively. The Nifty registered the days high and low at 16,942.60 and 16,837.85 points respectively. The Mid Cap moved up 0.93 per cent and Small Cap rose by 1.04 per cent. In 30 scrips, 28 advanced while 2 declined. The gainers were IndusInd Bank by 3.38 per cent to Rs 926.20, Axis Bank by 3.36 per cent to Rs 721.65, HDFC by 2.64 per cent to Rs 2298, Bajaj Finserv by 2.43 per cent to Rs 16,090.80 and Bajaj finance by 2.38 per cent to Rs 6823.75. The losers were Sun Pharma by 0.86 per cent to Rs 884.25 and Hind lever by 0.03 per cent to Rs 2037.35. NV ACL1115
