Sensex advances over 300 points

Mumbai, Mar 9 : The BSE Sensex on Wednesday rallied further by 369 points to open at 53,793.99 as renewed buying was witnessed in Health Care, Industrials, IT, Telecom and Utilities stocks. The Nifty too rose by 66 points at 16,078. The sectoral indices like Health Care, Industrials, IT, Telecom and Utilities stocks pushed the market further. The Sensex registered the days high and low at 53,918.92 and 53,367.52 points respectively. The Nifty registered days high and low at 16,146.70 and 15,990 points respectively. The Mid Cap moved up 0.84 per cent and Small Cap by 1.09 per cent. The gainers were Sun Pharma by 2.79 per cent to Rs 879.40, Tech Mahindra by 2.71 per cent to Rs 1502.25, Reliance Industries by 2.20 per cent to Rs 2286, Dr Reddy’s Lab by 1.99 per cent to Rs 3944.20 and Infosys by 1.80 per cent to Rs 1810.55. The losers were Asian Paints by 1.61 per cent to Rs 2674.90, Kotak Bank by 1.60 per cent to Rs 1695.05, Powergrid by 1.60 per cent to Rs 208.65, Nestle India Ltd by 1.03 per cent to Rs 17,120.90 and Axis Bank by 0.99 per cent to Rs 663.
