Schemes like PM Awas empower women: Min

New Delhi, April 8 : Rural Development Minister Giriraj Singh on Friday said social schemes, like the housing scheme of the BJP government, focused especially on women empowerment. As BJP observes a ‘social justice fortnight’ aiming to inform people about governments social schemes, Singh held a press conference in Delhi, and talked about the PM Garib Awas Yojana along with other schemes. Singh said over 2.5 crore houses have been made under the scheme since the NDA government came to power. He said under his government, over 35 lakh houses were constructed every year, while under UPA, the figure was 11.21 lakh houses every year. He also said only 2.35 crore women were part of the Ajivika Mission under UPA government and the numbers have now gone up to 8.20 crore. “I want to take it to 10 crore by 2024,” he said. He said so far governments had given “hollow slogan” of ‘Garibi Hatao’, and ‘Roti, Kapda, Makaan’, and social justice has actually been brought by the Narendra Modi government. BJP MPs and leaders have been asked to go to their constituencies between April 6-14, and discuss the social security programs of the government at booth and mandal levels. The social justice fortnight started on April 6,the foundation day of BJP, and will conclude on April 14, the birth anniversary of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar. AO SY 1414
