Saurabh Shukla and Anil Kapoor: A Dynamic Duo in Indian Cinema

Mumbai, March 9: Renowned actor Saurabh Shukla has carved a niche for himself in Hindi cinema, particularly in supporting roles. He is celebrated for his impeccable comic timing. In the recently released film “Subedar,” he portrays Prabhakar, the closest friend of Arjun Maurya, played by Anil Kapoor.

Prabhakar runs a security agency and serves as a true friend and mentor to Arjun in the film. “Subedar” has received widespread acclaim, with particular praise for the chemistry between Saurabh and Anil. This collaboration is not new; the two have previously worked together in several notable films, including “Taal,” “Nayak,” and “Slumdog Millionaire.”

Saurabh expressed his joy at reuniting with Anil for “Subedar.” On Monday, he shared photos from both their past projects and the new film on Instagram, captioning it, “This friendship will always be memorable. Have you watched ‘Subedar’ on Prime Video yet?”

In the 1999 film “Taal,” Anil Kapoor played the role of Vikrant Kapoor, while Saurabh Shukla portrayed Banerjee, Vikrant’s associate.

In the political drama “Nayak,” directed by S. Shankar, Anil took on the role of Shivaji Rao Gaikwad, an honest TV reporter who becomes the Chief Minister for a day and aims to change the system. Saurabh appeared as a gangster named Pandurang.

In the Oscar-winning film “Slumdog Millionaire,” released in 2008, Saurabh played Head Constable Srinivas, who balanced humor and seriousness during the interrogation of Jamal Malik at a Mumbai police station. Anil portrayed Prem Kumar, the host of the show within the film.
