New Delhi, April 27: The controversy surrounding Raghav Chadha and other MPs leaving the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to join the BJP continues to escalate. Saurabh Bhardwaj, the Delhi state president of AAP, stated that Chadha should not have conspired with the BJP.
In a video statement, Bhardwaj emphasized that Chadha is free to join any party he wishes. However, he criticized the manner in which Chadha made his exit. “Raghav mentioned that people change jobs, and similarly, he changed parties. I want to point out that individuals typically provide notice before leaving their current jobs,” Bhardwaj remarked.
He further explained that while changing jobs is common, people do not plot against their current employers. However, Bhardwaj accused Chadha of doing just that. “After spending years with this party, he should have considered his actions more carefully. For over a year, Raghav has been involved in creating a neutral image as a young politician who raises middle-class issues, in collaboration with the BJP’s central government,” he added.
Bhardwaj alleged that Chadha decided to join the BJP when the Enforcement Directorate (ED) began tightening its grip on him. “He never communicated this intention to anyone in the party and acted against the party that has always worked in his favor,” Bhardwaj said.
He also noted that the BJP had advised Chadha to raise specific issues that would resonate with the youth, benefiting the party in the long run. “When Raghav raised these issues, no BJP MP claimed credit for the government’s work. Instead, the BJP collaborated with him. Raghav could have left the party whenever he wanted, but he chose to conspire against the very party that gave him everything. That is not right,” Bhardwaj concluded.
