New Delhi, September 5 (Daily Kiran) : In New Delhi, Sapa MP Dr. Mohibullah Nadvi has expressed strong disapproval following the arrest of social media influencer Swatantra Bhardwaj. He described the incident as deeply regrettable and shameful, highlighting that those in constitutional positions have failed to uphold their oath to protect the Constitution.
Dr. Nadvi criticized the government’s lethargy in taking action against those who speak the truth, while welcoming criminals with garlands upon their release. He stated that this behavior contradicts the values of Indian society.
The MP further commented on the police’s handling of student protests in Delhi, which has drawn condemnation from various opposition leaders. He emphasized that the Samajwadi Party, led by Akhilesh Yadav, is committed to establishing social justice in the country. He noted that students represent the future of India and underscored the ongoing issues of disrespect towards women, particularly in cases involving female journalists.
He pointed out that journalists are regarded as the fourth pillar of democracy and deserve respect, especially when they are women. Dr. Nadvi accused the ruling BJP of failing to honor this principle, suggesting that their actions aim to divide society along communal lines.
He remarked that Hindus and Muslims are uniting against the oppression of the BJP and RSS. However, he believes that these groups attempt to distort conflicts into communal disputes, thereby weakening collective resistance. Drawing parallels to past student protests, he recalled violent police actions against students studying in libraries during the 2020 Jamia protests.
Dr. Nadvi asserted that the current stance of the Samajwadi Party is to ensure justice for all and to promote a regime of social justice. He reiterated that Akhilesh Yadav’s message resonates deeply with students across the nation.
Concerning Bhardwaj’s arrest, he reiterated the shamefulness of constitutional authorities failing to uphold their responsibilities. He lamented the slow judicial process in holding accountable those who threaten free speech, while celebrating the release of those convicted of crimes.
The MP concluded by invoking Mahatma Gandhi’s legacy of non-violence, asserting that the strength of empathy and peaceful resistance far outweighs the negative rhetoric of violent individuals.
