Ranchi, September 5 (Daily Kiran) : Central Minister of State for Defence, Sanjay Seth, has sharply criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and the Jharkhand government. He stated that Gandhi seems oblivious to the voices of students in Jharkhand, whose futures are at stake. Seth urged Gandhi to show courage and heed the concerns of the local student body.
This statement comes in response to the planned protests by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Jharkhand from September 8 to 11, against FIRs filed against students. Seth emphasized the need for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry, expressing distrust in the state’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID), which he believes is attempting to bury the truth instead of uncovering it.
Speaking about the protests, Seth remarked on the apparent double standards of both Rahul Gandhi and the Jharkhand government led by Hemant Soren. He questioned why FIRs against students have not been withdrawn in Jharkhand when similar actions have been taken across the country. “What crime have the students committed?” he asked, noting that they have been protesting for two months, demanding a CBI investigation due to a lack of transparency.
Seth highlighted the troubling trend where students are reportedly being asked to pay exorbitant sums for job placements, stating, “You have to pay 1.5 crore to become a DSP or 80 lakh to become an engineer. Such practices have never been seen or heard of before.” He asserted that students are being exploited, and their futures are being auctioned off.
He criticized Gandhi further, saying, “Based on your actions and character, the country sees you as a deceiver. If you have the courage, come to Ranchi and listen to the students’ voices. The cases against them must be withdrawn, and a CBI investigation is essential.”
