Mumbai, September 2: Sanjay Raut, a member of the Rajya Sabha from Shiv Sena (UBT), responded to the Supreme Court’s decision to cancel the CJP’s protest scheduled for September 5. He declared that this marks a significant victory for the youth of the nation.
Raut told reporters, “What is wrong with this? The Supreme Court has quashed the FIRs filed against youth across the country, who were labeled as ‘cockroaches.’ So why hold a march on September 5? There is no need for a march. The march has been canceled, and this is a victory. The youth are winning repeatedly. This is happening for the first time in this country.”
He further emphasized that the same Supreme Court that referred to the youth as cockroaches has ordered the cancellation of thousands of FIRs against them. “I commend the Supreme Court for this decision,” he added.
In addition, Raut reacted to a statement made by Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha. Supporting Gandhi’s remarks, Raut stated, “What is wrong with this? What Rahul Gandhi has said about the Election Commission is 100 percent correct.”
It is noteworthy that on September 1, Rahul Gandhi made serious allegations against the Election Commission in a post on ‘X’. He wrote, “Suddenly, 3.9 million new voters were added between the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections. I said then, and I still say, this was vote theft.”
Referring to West Bengal, he noted, “Of the names removed from the SI list, 91 percent had to be reinstated after appeals. This means 9 out of 10 names were wrongly removed, and names were added only after the elections. I said then, and I still say, this was vote theft.”
Gandhi further mentioned, “And now, in Maharashtra, 2.07 crore voters have been excluded from the draft list—meaning one in every five voters.”
