Mumbai, May 9: Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Nirupam has extended his congratulations to Suvendu Adhikari on becoming the Chief Minister of West Bengal. He expressed hope that the new government will revive industries and improve law and order in the state.
In an interview with the news agency INS, Nirupam stated that a new chapter in West Bengal’s history has begun with the formation of a government led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the first time.
He remarked, “For the first time in West Bengal’s history, a BJP Chief Minister has taken the oath. On behalf of Shiv Sena, I warmly congratulate the new Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari. West Bengal has faced struggles for a long time due to Congress, the Left, and TMC. Industries have collapsed, and law and order has been virtually non-existent. The safety of women has been at risk. Kolkata was once the industrial hub of India, and we have high hopes that the new government will restart industries and ensure special measures for women’s safety.”
Nirupam also criticized the Congress party’s delay in deciding on a Chief Minister following the Kerala Assembly elections. He noted that Congress won 102 out of 140 seats but has yet to announce its Chief Minister a week later, indicating a disconnect between Delhi and Kerala.
He stated, “The leaders who brought Congress to power in Kerala are now facing opposition from the party’s high command in Delhi. The Delhi leadership seems to prefer a sycophant over a leader who works on the ground. The leader who has worked hard has the support of the people in Kerala, while those trying to please the high command are opposed by the public.”
Additionally, Nirupam commented on a conversion case involving TCS, where Nida Khan has been accused of being the main conspirator. He alleged that jihadists sexually exploited Hindu women working at TCS and forced them to convert.
He mentioned that Nida Khan had been on the run for over a month, hiding in various locations. Originally from Nashik, she was reportedly hiding in Mumbra before being arrested in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
Nirupam highlighted the alarming fact that Khan was arrested from the home of a municipal councilor affiliated with the AIMIM party. He suggested that this indicates a collaboration between the AIMIM and jihadist elements, calling for immediate and strict action against those providing shelter to such individuals.
