Mumbai: The announcement of renowned singer Arijit Singh’s retirement from playback singing has surprised both the film industry and his fans. Actor Sanjay Mishra recently shared his views on this significant decision.
Currently in the spotlight for his upcoming film ‘Vadh 2’, Sanjay Mishra spoke about the challenges artists face during the peak of their careers. During the promotion of the film, he was asked whether feeling lonely at the height of one’s career is natural.
Responding to this, Sanjay Mishra said, “How long can a person continuously put himself under such pressure and hard work? The human heart is fragile and cannot always bear the weight of praise, expectations, and responsibilities. Even though big artists are surrounded by people, they can still feel lonely inside. When people call an artist a legend, managing that immense love and respect is not easy. At such times, a person needs solitude to connect with themselves and understand their feelings.”
He openly supported Arijit Singh’s decision, stating, “Arijit’s retirement from playback singing was necessary for his well-being. He sang with passion, and people showered him with love and respect. Everyone has the right to decide when to pause and when to move forward in life.”
Sanjay Mishra also cited his own experience along with actress Neena Gupta, saying, “We chose acting and received appreciation, but the most important thing is that when life comes to an end, a person should not feel they made the wrong decision.”
The film ‘Vadh 2’ is scheduled to release in cinemas on 6 February 2026.
