Charleston (USA), April 11 : India’s veteran tennis player Sania Mirza and her Czech partner Lucie Hradecka finished WTA Charleston Open campaign as runner-up after losing to Andreja Klepac and Magda Linette in the women’s doubles summit clash. Sania-Lucie lost 2-6, 6-4, 7-10 to Andreja-Magda in the final on Sunday. On their way to final, the duo stunned the top seeded Zhang Shuai and Caroline Dolehide 6-2, 4-6, 10-8 in the semifinals. In the quarterfinals, they got the better of third seeded Alexa Guarachi-Jessica Pegula pair. The 35-year-old Indian ace, who has six Grand Slam titles to her credit, had earlier announced that she would retire after 2022 season. BAV RNJ
