Sai Sudharsan Thrilled to Join the Ranks of Legends like Sehwag, Warner, and Buttler

Ahmedabad, May 21: Sai Sudharsan, the Gujarat Titans batsman, expressed his excitement about joining the elite club of cricket legends such as Virender Sehwag, David Warner, and Jos Buttler after scoring five consecutive half-centuries in the Indian Premier League 2026. He emphasized that the team’s focus is now on the upcoming significant challenges.

After his impressive innings of 84 runs against Chennai Super Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Sudharsan shared his thoughts with broadcasters, stating, “Being part of that list is an incredible experience, but there is still work to be done. We need to win matches and perform well in the playoffs. My focus is on that. I am very happy and grateful to God.”

Sudharsan, who formed a 125-run partnership for the first wicket with Shubman Gill and an 82-run partnership for the second wicket with Jos Buttler, remarked, “I think Shubman played incredibly well. Jos Buttler also batted superbly. Perhaps I could have done even better and scored 10-15 more runs. We don’t play according to our scores but adapt to the situation.”

He added, “I believe we focus on partnerships. I wasn’t scoring quickly at that moment. Once the power play was over, we were scoring at 10 runs per over. So, I think I wasn’t concentrating on my score or how many runs I made off the balls. We play as a partnership, choosing the right moments and taking the game to the end.”

Sai Sudharsan has been outstanding in IPL 2026, showcasing remarkable consistency in his batting. He has emerged as the leading run-scorer of the season, earning the Orange Cap. Sudharsan has amassed 638 runs in 14 matches, including one century and seven half-centuries.
