Chennai, April 26: Sai Sudharsan, the opening batsman for Gujarat Titans (GT), delivered an impressive century against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Saturday. Following his remarkable innings, Sudharsan discussed the importance of adapting to the ever-evolving demands of T20 cricket.
While addressing the media, he highlighted the significance of being versatile in batting order and understanding match situations. Ahead of the upcoming match against Chennai Super Kings, he shared his batting philosophy with broadcasters, stating, “As a team, Shubman Gill and I focus on ‘percentage cricket’. We aim to push the team forward as much as possible. For us, this means providing a solid foundation for the incoming batsmen in the 14th or 15th over.”
Sudharsan emphasized the need for batsmen to evolve with the format, saying, “T20 is constantly changing, and as batsmen, we must adapt and be prepared for whatever situations arise. I focus on playing according to the conditions rather than adhering to a specific strike rate. My attention is on the circumstances and the needs of the moment.”
Reflecting on his return to a familiar ground, he expressed gratitude and happiness about playing at Chepauk. “I will meet my family and friends after the match, but I am truly grateful and happy to be back at this venue,” he remarked.
Recalling his early days, Sudharsan shared, “I vividly remember this place. When I was much younger, I came here and wondered, ‘Will I ever get to play on this ground?’ I had that feeling back then, and today, I am genuinely thankful to God for this opportunity.”
