Russia’s Dozhd broadcaster temporarily shuts down

Moscow, March 3 ( /Sputnik) The Dozhd broadcaster announced a temporary cessation of work, the broadcaster head, Natalya Sindeeva, said on Thursday. “We have made a decision that we are temporarily shutting down the TV channel. We need strength and time to exhale and understand how to work further … This was the last news release. We hope that we will return on air,” Sindeeva said. On Tuesday, the Russian Prosecutor General’s Office appealed to the Russian media regulator Roskomnadzor requesting to restrict access to the resources of the Echo of Moscow radio station and the Dozhd broadcaster due to their calls for extremist activities, mass violations of public order, as well as for disseminating false information about the military operation in Ukraine.
