Russian nationals stopped at Canadian airport

Ottawa, March 4 : A charter aircraft carrying Russian foreign nationals was held at the Yellowknife airport in Canada, Minister Omar Alghabra said on Friday. Taking to Twitter, he said, “A charter aircraft that carried Russian foreign nationals has been held at the Yellowknife airport. We will continue to hold Russia accountable for its invasion of Ukraine.” Citing Canadian officials, the New York Times reported that two Russian nations flying in a private jet that had taken off from Geneva landed in northern Canada this week and were prevented from traveling farther. On Sunday, Canada banned Russian aircraft from entering the Canadian airspace. The US and the EU have put similar rules against Russia. Meanwhile, Airbnb has suspended its activities in Russia and Belarus. “Airbnb is suspending all operations in Russia and Belarus,” company’s CEO Brian Chersky tweeted. RNJ
