Royal Challengers Bangalore Dominates Delhi Capitals in IPL 2026 Match

New Delhi, April 27: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) triumphed over Delhi Capitals (DC) by 9 wickets in the 39th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 on Monday. This impressive victory solidifies RCB’s position in the top two of the standings.

Currently, RCB holds the second spot with 6 wins out of 8 matches, while Delhi Capitals languish in seventh place, having lost 5 out of their 8 games.

Batting first after losing the toss at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi Capitals struggled, collapsing to just 75 runs in 16.3 overs. The team faced an early setback with debutant Sahil Parkh falling for a duck on just the second ball. They lost 6 wickets for a mere 8 runs.

David Miller and Abhishek Porel managed to add 35 runs for the seventh wicket off 31 balls. Miller scored 19 runs off 18 balls before returning to the pavilion, while Porel contributed 30 runs from 33 balls, including 3 fours. Kyle Jamieson added 12 runs to the total.

From the opposition, Josh Hazlewood was the standout performer, claiming 4 wickets for just 12 runs in 3.3 overs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar also excelled, taking 3 wickets, while Rasikh Salam Dar, Suyash Sharma, and Krunal Pandya each took 1 wicket.

Chasing a modest target, RCB wrapped up the match in just 6.3 overs. Jacob Bethel partnered with Virat Kohli to score 26 runs in 2.5 overs. Bethel made 20 runs off 11 balls, hitting 2 sixes and 1 four before getting out.

Devdutt Padikkal then formed an unbeaten partnership of 51 runs with Kohli off 22 balls, leading RCB to an easy victory. Kohli remained not out at 23 runs from 15 balls, while Padikkal scored 34 runs off just 13 balls, including 3 sixes and 3 fours. The only wicket for DC came from Kyle Jamieson.
