Mumbai, September 18 (Daily Kiran) : Former Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma recently reflected on his deep friendship with former opening partner Shikhar Dhawan during an episode of his show, “Family Full House with Rohit Sharma.” The duo has shared many memorable innings on the cricket field, and their bond stands out among their teammates.
Dhawan appeared as a special guest on the show, prompting Sharma to reminisce about their cricketing days together. At the start of the program, Rohit humorously expressed his excitement, stating, “I feel particularly refreshed today because my close friend is here.”
With a smile, Rohit added, “I also feel fresh because my buddy is coming, brother.” He then engaged the audience in a light-hearted discussion about the meaning of friendship, sharing his thoughts on what a true friend represents.
Rohit quipped, “A friend should be someone who suddenly gets a crucial phone call when it’s time to pay the restaurant bill.” He contrasted modern friendships, which often rely on memes and social media, with his own connection with Dhawan, emphasizing the depth of their relationship.
He explained, “I have shared the dressing room, victories, losses, and pressures with him. We have even shared the opening partnership.” Rohit elaborated on why his bond with Dhawan is unique, saying, “While everyone has friendships, my connection with him is different. We started playing together at a very young age on a competitive level.”
He concluded by highlighting the ease of their partnership, saying, “I always felt that playing with him relieved my pressure because he handled the stress, allowing me to focus. That’s why I always think, ‘When Shikhar is around, what is there to worry about?'”
