Lucknow : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has asked the officers to maintain strict law and order during the upcoming festivals. Police and administration must remain active 24×7, effective arrangements should be made during Ramlila, he said.
On Sunday, through video conferencing, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath gave necessary directions to the divisional, zone, range, police commissionerate and senior administrative and police officers of the district regarding maintenance of strict law and order during the upcoming festivals.
The CM said, Sharadiya Navratri is starting from 26th September. Similarly, prominent festivals like Vijayadashami, Valmiki Jayanti, Baravafat, Deepawali and Chhath are within the next few days. We should remain in 24×7 alert mode.
He said that the coming one month will be full of festive fervour. The markets will be crowded. In such a situation, the police should increase foot patrolling. Extra vigilance should be maintained for the safety of women, children and senior citizens.
Unnecessary power cuts should not be allowed during festivals. There should be electricity supply in the village/city as per the fixed roster. Control rooms should be activated at the state level, commissionerate and range level. At the state level, ADG law and order should monitor, he added.
Traditionally, idols of Maa Durga have been kept in more than 44,000 places in the state, the CM said adding that apart from these places, the idols are also established at other places. Communicate with the pooja committees, to get the idols installed in a safe place like a public park, etc., so that the usual traffic is not affected. Faith and public sentiment should be fully respected.
Prepare strategy according to local needs for deployment of police force at the time of idol immersion.
It would be appropriate to get a temporary pond constructed for immersion by communicating with the committees, he added.
Regardig Ramlila, Yogi said that it is part of our tradition. A large number of people participate in it. The staging of Ramlila continues till late in the night. In such a situation, proper security arrangements should be made. Patrolling should be increased.
Keeping in view the local needs, all necessary efforts should be made for the festivals to be held in peace and harmony, he said adding that deal strictly with the policy of zero tolerance to those issuing inappropriate statements. Strictest action should be taken against those trying to cause chaos and anarchy.
