Registration for MSP Purchase of Rice, Jowar, and Millet Begins in Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal, October 5 (Daily Kiran) : The registration process for the procurement of rice, jowar, and millet at minimum support prices (MSP) for the Kharif marketing year 2026-27 has commenced in Madhya Pradesh. So far, 305,082 farmers have completed their registrations, with the deadline set for October 10.

Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Protection Minister Govind Singh Rajput urged farmers to register within the stipulated time to avoid any inconvenience. He emphasized that the registration process has been made simple and accessible, with over 1,100 registration centers established across the state.

In the Jabalpur division alone, 147,824 farmers have registered, followed by 16,398 in Narmadapuram, 8,599 in Bhopal, 94,384 in Rewa, 21,456 in Shahdol, and 16,155 in Sagar.

Rajput noted that registration is free at facilities set up in village and block panchayats, as well as at cooperative societies and marketing institutions. For those opting for paid registration, services are available at MP Online kiosks, Common Service Centers, and private cyber cafes, with a maximum fee of 50 rupees per registration.

Farmers are required to provide land-related documents, along with their Aadhaar cards and other photo identification for verification. Special provisions for registration are available for sharecroppers, Kotwars, and forest leaseholders exclusively at cooperative-run centers, where 100% verification will be conducted by the revenue department.

District collectors have been instructed to keep Aadhaar registration centers operational at the district and tehsil levels, allowing farmers to easily update their mobile numbers and biometrics. Additionally, coordination with banks is necessary to link Aadhaar numbers with bank accounts. A nominal transaction fee of one rupee will be processed by the Madhya Pradesh State Supply Corporation during registration for account verification via the e-procurement and JIT portal.
