Redmi Turbo 5 Max Launches with Massive 9000mAh Battery and MediaTek Dimensity 9500s Chipset

Xiaomi has introduced the Redmi Turbo 5 Max as a new value-focused flagship model in its Turbo 5 series. This smartphone stands out with a huge 9000mAh battery, a powerful MediaTek chipset, and a refined design, aiming to offer strong performance at an affordable price point.

The Redmi Turbo 5 Max features a 6.83-inch 1.5K OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen is bright enough to reach up to 3,500 nits, ensuring clear visibility even in direct sunlight. It also supports 3840Hz high-frequency PWM dimming and DC dimming to reduce flicker and ease eye strain. Dolby Vision support enhances the HDR viewing experience, delivering richer colours and contrast.

In terms of build quality, the phone has a CNC metallic frame combined with a fiberglass back panel. Its rear design includes a distinctive double ring turbine light strip. The device comes in multiple colour options such as Shadow Black, Ocean Blue, Cloud White, and Sunshine Orange, which draws inspiration from the iPhone 17 Pro. Additionally, the phone carries an IP66/68/69/69K rating, providing robust water and dust resistance.

Powering the Redmi Turbo 5 Max is the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset, a slightly scaled-down version of the flagship Dimensity 9500, offering performance on par with the Dimensity 9400. It is paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 5.1 storage, enabling smooth multitasking and capable gaming performance.

The device runs on Android 16 with Xiaomi’s custom HyperOS 3 skin. Connectivity features include WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers, an infrared sensor, and dual nano SIM support.

The highlight of the Redmi Turbo 5 Max is its massive 9000mAh battery, one of the largest capacities ever seen in a Redmi phone. It supports 100W wired fast charging and 27W wired reverse charging, which allows it to charge other devices like a power bank. Xiaomi claims the battery can provide up to 11 hours and 10 minutes of screen-on time.

For photography, the phone comes equipped with a 50MP Light Fusion 600 main camera featuring a 1/1.95-inch sensor size, along with optical and electronic image stabilization (OIS and EIS). It is complemented by an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens. Both cameras support 4K video recording at 60fps.

The Redmi Turbo 5 Max is currently available in China with several memory configurations. Pricing starts at 2499 Yuan (approximately 359 USD) for the 12GB + 256GB model, and goes up to 3099 Yuan (around 445 USD) for the 16GB + 512GB variant. Xiaomi has not yet announced plans for international release, but the Turbo series may launch in markets like India under the POCO brand.
