Red Alert for Heatwave in Barmer, Bikaner, and Jaisalmer: Rajasthan Braces for Intense Heat
Jaipur, April 16 The heatwave has gripped almost the entire state of Rajasthan, excluding the southern districts. With soaring temperatures and hot winds sweeping across the region, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Red Alert for Barmer, Bikaner, and Jaisalmer, warning of severe heat conditions over the next few days.
Western Rajasthan Under Red Alert
On Wednesday, the cities of Barmer, Bikaner, and Jaisalmer have been placed under red alert due to intense heatwave conditions. Additionally, 11 other districts are under orange and yellow alerts as temperatures surge.
Barmer recorded the highest temperature in the state on Tuesday, peaking at 45.5ยฐC, while Jaisalmer followed closely at 45ยฐC. Other affected cities include:

Weather Fluctuations in South Rajasthan
While Barmer and western regions suffered extreme heat, places like Udaipur and Dungarpur experienced minor changes in the weather. Light clouds gathered in the afternoon with traces of rain reported in a few areas.
In contrast, Jaipur witnessed clear skies and scorching sun for the entire day.

According to Radheshyam Sharma, Director of Jaipur Meteorological Centre, a weak western disturbance may influence some parts of Rajasthan on April 16โ17, possibly causing dust storms, light cloud cover, and scattered rain or drizzle in certain areas.
