Bengaluru, April 4: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Rajat Patidar and wicketkeeper-batsman Jitesh Sharma visited the sacred Tirumala Temple on Saturday to offer their prayers.
Nestled in the Sheshachalam hills of Andhra Pradesh, the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple is one of the holiest sites in Hinduism. Dedicated to Lord Venkateswara, an incarnation of Vishnu, this temple attracts over 24 million pilgrims each year.
Patidar and Sharma had also visited this revered site before their match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) last year, where RCB emerged victorious. That win marked RCB’s first-ever IPL title.
Recently, Patidar, who has just become a father, showcased impressive form in the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on March 28 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, scoring 31 runs off just 12 balls.
In contrast, Jitesh Sharma struggled in the previous match but aims to play a pivotal role in securing a win against CSK.
RCB kicked off IPL 2026 with a fantastic victory over SRH. Winning the toss, they opted to bowl first, restricting SRH to 201 runs for 9 wickets. RCB chased down the target, scoring 203 runs for 4 wickets in just 15.4 overs, thanks to Virat Kohli’s unbeaten 69 runs off 38 balls and Devdutt Padikkal’s quick 61 runs off 26 balls. New Zealand’s Jacob Duffy, who replaced the unfit Josh Hazlewood, was named Player of the Match for his outstanding bowling performance, taking 3 wickets.
In their next match, RCB will face five-time champions Chennai Super Kings at their home ground, M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, on Sunday. CSK is still searching for their first win after losing their initial two matches, while RCB aims to maintain their winning momentum.
