
Dharmshala, May 17: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has set a formidable target of 223 runs for Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the 61st match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, held at the HPCA Stadium on Sunday. Virat Kohli and Venkatesh Iyer both delivered impressive half-centuries, aiming to secure a playoff spot with 18 points.
Punjab Kings’ captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to field first. RCB responded by scoring 222 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in their allotted overs.
The opening partnership of Jacob Bethel and Virat Kohli managed to accumulate 21 runs in just 14 balls. Bethel scored 11 runs with 2 boundaries before returning to the pavilion. Kohli then formed a crucial partnership with Devdutt Padikkal, adding 76 runs for the second wicket in 41 balls, bringing the score to 97.
