Ahmedabad, May 31: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) won the toss and chose to bowl first in the IPL 2026 final against Gujarat Titans (GT) on Sunday. Both teams are eager to claim the title for the second time.
In the ongoing final at Narendra Modi Stadium, RCB made no changes to their lineup. After winning the toss, RCB captain Rajat Patidar stated, “We will bowl first. It’s a good wicket, and I don’t expect much change. There are many memories from last year. We need to give our best to win this match. Staying present is crucial. We will focus on what we can control. I always enjoy playing in this stadium. Our team remains the same.”
On the other hand, GT captain Shubman Gill expressed, “If we had won the toss, we would have batted first. It’s a typical wicket, and this is our third match here. Fast bowlers might find some assistance in the first three overs. This is one of the largest stadiums in the world. We made one change in the team, bringing in Arshad Khan for Sai Kishore.”
This season, RCB and GT have faced each other three times. On April 24, RCB secured a 5-wicket victory against GT, followed by a 4-wicket loss on April 30. In Qualifier 1, RCB dominated GT, winning by 92 runs.
