Ration Will Be Stopped After April 30 Without e-KYC: Here’s What You Need to Do Immediately

If you are a ration card holder and avail subsidized grains from government ration shops, it’s crucial that you update your e-KYC before April 30, 2025. As per recent government orders, failing to do so will result in the suspension of your ration benefits.

Ration Card eKYC deadline

Ration Card Holders Urged to Complete e-KYC by April 30

In a stern advisory, Jabalpur Collector Deepak Kumar Saxena emphasized that e-KYC is now the top priority for all ration card holders. He clarified that families who do not complete the KYC process before the deadline will no longer be eligible to receive monthly essentials like wheat, rice, salt, and cooking oil from ration shops.

The Samagra ID and Ration Card must be fully updated. The Samagra ID includes data of every family member and determines the monthly ration entitlement.

Offline Method for Rural Areas Without Smartphone Access

For individuals without smartphone or internet access, e-KYC can be done at the nearest ration shop using biometric verification (fingerprint scan). Make sure to carry the Aadhaar card of each family member listed on the ration card.

  • To remove a family member, present the death certificate.

  • To add a new member, provide a birth certificate.

Government’s Strict Move Against Fake Ration Cards

The government has identified several irregularities, including the use of fake ration cards and claims in the name of deceased individuals. The e-KYC drive is aimed at ensuring that only genuine and eligible beneficiaries continue to receive ration benefits under the National Food Security Act (NFSA).

Avoid disruption in your ration supply—complete your e-KYC before April 30, 2025.
