To ensure transparency and eliminate fake beneficiaries, the government has made e-KYC mandatory for all ration card holders. This biometric verification helps link the ration card to Aadhaar, allowing seamless delivery of food subsidies and services.
In several districts like Garhwa in Jharkhand, authorities have already initiated mass e-KYC drives. For example, in Ramna block, nearly 70% of cardholders have completed e-KYC.
