Rashid Khan Shines as Gujarat Titans Defeat Rajasthan Royals by 77 Runs

Jaipur, May 10: The 52nd match of IPL 2026 took place at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, where Gujarat Titans (GT) triumphed over Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 77 runs. Thanks to Shubman Gill’s explosive batting and Rashid Khan’s lethal bowling, GT secured a convincing victory. Rashid Khan was named Player of the Match.

After the match, Rashid expressed his satisfaction with his performance, stating, “I felt there was something for me the moment I bowled my first ball. I was consistently trying to deliver the ball at the right speed and length, which led to my success. When the ball goes outside the stumps, it becomes easier for the batsman to hit boundaries.”

Rashid praised his fellow spinner Sai Kishore, noting his dedication to improving his skills. “I’m excited to see him bowl in the future,” he added.

Reflecting on his recent seasons, Rashid mentioned, “The last two seasons weren’t great for me. This year, I’m focusing on bowling with the right line and length and enjoying my game. My aim is to maintain consistency. My fitness and bowling have improved post-surgery.”

In the match, Rajasthan won the toss and opted to bowl first. GT scored 229 runs for the loss of 4 wickets, with captain Shubman Gill contributing 84 runs off 44 balls and Sai Sudharsan adding 55 runs off 36 balls.

Chasing a target of 230 runs, Rajasthan Royals were bowled out for 152 runs in just 16.3 overs. Rashid Khan took 4 wickets for 33 runs in 4 overs. Jason Holder claimed 3 wickets for just 12 runs in 2.3 overs, while Kagiso Rabada took 2 wickets for 33 runs in 3 overs.

With this victory, GT moved up to second place in the points table, while RR dropped to fifth, outside the top four.
