Ranbir Kapoor Acquires Land in Ayodhya Ahead of Ramayana Release

Mumbai, May 14: In an exciting development amidst the buzz surrounding the release of his upcoming film ‘Ramayana,’ actor Ranbir Kapoor has made headlines by purchasing land in Ayodhya. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film features Kapoor in the role of Lord Ram. He has acquired 2,134 square feet of land in the luxury project ‘The Saryu’ for ₹3.31 crores, located along the banks of the Saryu River.

The actor expressed, “Ayodhya has chosen me, and I have simply responded to this call.” This land will serve as a legacy for his family. Ranbir’s investment is in a project developed by the House of Abhinandan Lodha, which spans 75 acres and includes over 35 luxury lifestyle amenities, a large clubhouse, and a fully vegetarian luxury hotel, ‘The Leela,’ spread over 5 acres.

On his purchase, Kapoor stated, “I believe Ayodhya has chosen me, and I have just answered this call. Ayodhya is an integral part of our history and cultural fabric. This land in ‘The Saryu’ will become a part of my family’s heritage.”

In ‘Ramayana,’ Ranbir Kapoor portrays Lord Ram, while Sai Pallavi plays the role of Sita. The film also features Yash as Ravana and Sunny Deol as Hanuman, with Ravi Dubey taking on the role of Lakshman, Lord Ram’s brother. The music for this epic film is being composed by A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer.

Notably, Ranbir Kapoor is not the only celebrity investing in Ayodhya. Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan has also purchased land there, acquiring property worth ₹35 crores earlier this year. In May 2025, he bought land near ‘The Saryu’ project for ₹40 crores, and in 2024, he purchased 10,000 square feet in the same project for ₹14.5 crores.
